About the event

"'Change is the only constant." -Heraclitus

Change is constant, but that doesn't make it easy. Consider the flexibility of a tree and how, just like all of us, it is built to respond naturally to its changing conditions.  Leaves die and change their colors in the autumn, shedding their leaves, falling to the ground to provide nutrients for the tree to grow.  Winter brings deep rest and root growth, trees growing downward instead of up, preparing for spring where they burst forth with new life, green leaves unfurling in the warm sun, basking in all of its glory come summer, reaching ever upwards.

These cycles invite us to ask certain questions;  Autumn begs for release.  What are you ready to let go of? Winter asks us to go inward and reflect.  What lessons have you overcome? Spring is the rebirth.  What is ready to flow into your life? Summer is about growth.  What needs to be nurtured and cultivated? These are the essential questions we must ask ourselves as life ebs and flows with the cycle of the seasons.

Join me for a year of introspection and painting as we deep dive into the seasons of our life. I will teach the method of intuitive medicine painting known as intentional creativity, taught to me by my teacher Shilo Sophia.  We will start our paintings with an inquiry and see where the subconscious wants to take us.

Canvas and paint will be provided.  I have a select number of brushes.  If you have any brushes you would like to use please feel free to bring them with you.  This will be a series of 4 workshops throughout the year.  You can take just one class, or you can sign up for all 4 for a discount!  Workshops will be 5 hours long each.  I will provide light snacks and water.  Please make sure to pack a lunch!

Tree of Life: Winter Edition:

In the winter, the trees rest.  Going into a sort of hibernation, growing downward into the earth in preparation for the spring when it bursts forth with all of its fresh green growth and blossoms.  Without this downward growth no new growth can occur in the spring. Join artist Angelina as we use Intentional Creativity to honor our time of rest and the lessons we have learned.

Maiden, Mother, Crone.  This is the cycle of life that has been known throughout the ages.  As women we are destined to become these.  Crone as defined in Websters dictionary is "an ugly or cruel old woman."  Who wants to be destined to become such a thing?? I suggest we reclaim this word, Crone.  A Crone is a version of our future selves.  She speaks with the wisedom of experiece, and behaves with the grace and patience of a sage.  She has lived a lot of life and seen an learned many lessons along the way.  Join me as we honor the lessons of the Crone from the past year and reclaim this word in a positive light.
